
Daniel Rios Arroyo, PhD, is a higher education scholar whose research examines the educational experiences of rural Latinx students, with a particular focus on their college transition, sense of belonging, and persistence at four-year institutions. He earned his doctorate in education from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research is grounded in frameworks such as critical race theory, Latino critical race theory, community cultural wealth, and bridging multiple worlds theory. Dr. Rios Arroyo’s work centers on the voices and lived experiences of marginalized students and challenges deficit narratives that often shape policy and practice in higher education.
