Alycia Cole is a doctoral student in curriculum and instruction within the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership at Utah State University and has 10 years of experience as a secondary educator. Her research interests include integrated reading-writing pedagogies, writing discourse communities, genre-based pedagogies, multimodality, and helping students bring their identities into their writing. As her academic and professional pursuits reflect a broad commitment to educational excellence and innovation, she has also enjoyed working as a research assistant in complementary fields, including rural education, which has allowed her to build a more holistic understanding of education.
