Dayna Jean DeFeo is a research faculty member and Director of the Center for Alaska Education Policy Research (CAEPR) in the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her research includes workforce development pathways and postsecondary transitions, and k-12 teacher preparation including teacher supply, demand, and turnover. Much of Dayna’s recent work is situated in Alaska, and she is interested in the rural and cultural context for education policy. She holds a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico State University. Outside of work, Dayna enjoys long-distance running, textile art, spending time with her dog, and repurposing garage sale and junk items.
