Lillian R. Sims is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation at the University of Kentucky. Prior to graduate school she was an English teacher at the high school and community college level, which inspired her interest in how students from various social backgrounds are sorted into professional trajectories. Her research explores processes of career choice for rural students, access to professional education for underrepresented students, and professional school student networks.
