Dr. Darris R. Means is an Associate Professor of College Student Affairs Administration in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services at the University of Georgia. Darris earned his Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis with a concentration in Higher Education from North Carolina State University. His recent research examines college access and college success for Black students, focusing primarily on rural Black students and Black students pursuing degrees in science. He has over 20 published articles, book chapters, and reports, and he has received grant funding from the National Science Foundation, National Academy of Education, Spencer Foundation, American College Personnel Association, and American Educational Research Association to support his research on college access and college success.
